Precision Tubes (Stainless/Duplex/Carbon & Alloy/Nickel Alloys/Titanium)|Global Sourcing for Engineering & Procurement
1. Product Positioning & Application Scope
“Precision tubes” are metallic tubes manufactured by cold drawing, cold rolling (including pilger), or precision welding with subsequent cold sizing to achieve tight dimensional tolerances, controlled inner/outer surface quality, and cleanliness. They are intended for instrumentation and control, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, automotive and machinery, boilers and heat exchangers, sanitary and high-purity systems, offshore and chemical service, as well as medical micro-tubing—applications where accuracy, cleanliness, and repeatability matter. Unlike “pipes” for bulk pressure transport, precision tubes focus on geometry and function and are normally specified by OD and wall thickness under Tube/Mechanical-Tubing standards. Materials cover carbon and low-alloy steels, stainless steels (austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, duplex), high-nickel alloys, and titanium. Dimension and tolerance systems follow ISO 1127 (stainless steel tubes), the EN 10305 family, and ASTM A269/A213/A632 where applicable.
2. Standards Matrix (by material family & use)
