1) Overview

Refineries are highly complex facilities that operate under extreme conditions of high temperature, high pressure, low temperature, and severe corrosion (sulfides, sour water, hydrogen). Therefore, pipes, fittings, and flanges used in refineries must provide reliable resistance to corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, and creep.
