1) Overview
Shipbuilding steel materials are specialized steels for ship construction and offshore engineering, offering high strength, toughness, weldability, and corrosion resistance for long-term marine service.
The range includes structural steel plates, marine piping steels, shipbuilding sections, and special alloys, certified by ABS, DNV, LR, BV, CCS, widely used in bulk carriers, oil tankers, container ships, passenger ships, fishing vessels, LNG carriers, and offshore platforms.
2) Manufacturing Process
• Steelmaking: BOF/EAF + LF/VD refining
• Forming: Continuous casting → hot rolled plates & sections
• Heat Treatment: TMCP, normalizing, quenching & tempering (QT)
• Surface: Shot blasting, oiling, primer coating, galvanizing
